Description.
A period frame crafted from carved and stuccoed wood with a gold leaf finish. The piece is notable for its hybrid structural design, comprising a central oval-shaped moulded window set within a rectangular outer frame with recessed or cut-away corners of an architectural aesthetic. It is raised by an internal moulding decorated with a continuous succession of carved leaves or rope-and-twist motifs in relief, whilst the outer perimeter edge features a subtle like beaded finish.
