Description.
White jade carved seal with an oval base and cylindrical body. It features a sculptural finial in the shape of a bixie in a dynamic pose, with a fierce gaze, sturdy legs and a curled tail. The jade exhibits a remarkable natural patina of reddish-brown and ochre colours covering much of the base and body. The base bears the characters ‘见天心’ and traces of sealing wax. Qing dynasty (1644–1912).
