Lithograph on Arches paper. The original composition by the great Malaga-born master Pablo Picasso (1881–1973). The work exalts a male portrait in profile, rendered with clean, concise lines in a grayish hue that define the facial features, ear, and hair, complemented by dotted details for the beard and a unique Cubist reinterpretation through the placement of a third, frontal eye. Over the linear structure, the artist superimposes dynamic touches of color with a waxy texture: a blue line that emphasizes the bridge of the nose, a sinuous red stroke on the cheek, and a circular patch of bright yellow that illuminates the face. Dated in the plate by the artist in the lower right corner "16.5.64." with the Roman numeral "V" immediately below. Year of publication: 1964.
Plate size (approx.): 21 x 13 cm; Paper size: 33 x 25 cm; Size with frame: 50 x 43 cm
