Description.
A pair of porcelain dishes decorated in cobalt blue on a white ground, with a transparent underglaze. The rim is divided by lines of varying thickness into alternating panels with motifs of butterflies and flowering branches, symbols of transformation and beauty. The central scene depicts a natural landscape with rock formations, trees and two deer among bushes and lingzhi mushrooms. The deer, symbolizing longevity and prosperity, together with the lingzhi, reinforce the message of fortune and long life. The base shows a simple geometric design in underglaze blue. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
