Description.
A pair of finely carved, oval-shaped jade medallions with an openwork design. Both pieces depict a deer under a pine tree, a symbolic motif associated with longevity and prosperity. The carving is meticulous, with well-defined details in the deer's fur and the foliage of the pine tree, leaving perforated areas that add visual lightness. The even cream-coloured stone has natural inclusions in beige tones. Ming dynasty (1368-1644) or later.
