Description.
A pair of white jade plaques from Hetian, carved in rectangular form with gently rounded edges. The upper part of each piece features a dragon in high relief, modelled with dynamism and expressiveness, surrounding a suspension hole. The front side shows decorative geometric and auspicious cloud motifs engraved in low relief, while the reverse side remains plain, except for a small circular decoration on the lower edge. Each plate is contained in a custom-made box lined with brocade silk. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
