Description.
A paper fan with mother-of-pearl ribs, featuring a hand-painted depiction of a palatial interior belonging to the upper bourgeoisie, depicting a reception or literary salon. On the reverse side is a crowned monogram set against small wildflowers in pastel tones. The openwork ribs are painted in the center, featuring three small cartouches with human figures that visually interact with the large painting on the paper panel. The fan is finished with a hanging tassel.
