Porcelain bowl ‘Dragons amidst clouds’ with gilt-bronze applications, Qing dynasty

A porcelain bowl with an inverted truncated cone-shaped body with a slightly flared profile, a defined rim and a narrow circular foot. It is decorated with polychrome enamels on a glaze in shades of iron-red and translucent blue on a white background. The outer face depicts two five-clawed imperial dragons in red, surrounded by stylized blue clouds. On the inside, within a circular medallion encircled by a gold line, is a third red dragon amidst clouds, executed in the same style.
The bowl has been adapted to a later gilt-bronze mount, consisting of an upper rim with incised leaf decoration and three curved legs with vegetal motifs in relief. On the base is a seal in underglaze blue with the inscription “大清嘉庆年制”. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
