Description.
Porcelain bowl decorated with polychrome enamels on a reddish coral background. The exterior is richly ornamented with a dense garden of flowers, leaves and stems in a continuous arrangement, including chrysanthemums, peonies, bluebells and other species, executed with great delicacy. The base of the bowl is raised on a slightly reinforced ring foot, which is also enamelled in coral-red. The interior contrasts with a plain white surface and, in the centre, shows a scene of fruit and seeds, auspicious symbols of fertility, abundance and longevity. On the base is a four-character seal ‘康熙年製’ underglaze.
