Description.
Porcelain pot for ‘bitong’ brushes with a cylindrical base and straight sides. It is decorated with polychrome enamels, both overglaze and underglaze. The interior, base and rim feature a sinuous pattern of veins on a brown background, imitating the texture of natural wood, while the exterior has a white background covered with subtle clouds from which sharp claws and the scaly body of a fierce dragon emerge, running around the perimeter and framing a long poem. The base bears an underglaze seal reading “大清乾隆年制”.
