Description.
A ceremonial cup made of cobalt-blue glazed porcelain on a white ground. The truncated cone-shaped body is raised on a tall flared foot, and has continuous decoration of the “eight Buddhist emblems” (bajixiang) among floral motifs and garlands. The upper rim is bordered by a border of scrolls, while the base of the foot has a border of stylised hanging ribbons. On the base is an apocryphal six-character seal in blue under the cover: “大清道光年製”.
