Porcelain ‘Granade’ candlestick, Qing dynasty

A porcelain vase with a globular body resembling a pomegranate, topped by a short neck that flares out into five lobes. The piece is notable for its vibrant flambé-style polychrome glaze, which combines red with splashes of cobalt blue and violet. A gilded metal structure has been mounted on the vase, comprising a square base and a finial designed to hold a candle. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912).  or later.
