A porcelain jar with a lid, decorated in the doucai technique, where underglaze cobalt-blue outlines delineate figures that are then completed with polychrome glazes. The decoration shows a continuous scene with fantastic qilin-like animals, depicted in various colours such as red, blue and yellow, galloping among stylised waves and auspicious clouds. The upper part is decorated with a frieze of yellow enamelled leaves and a blue cloud border on the lid, which also has a central medallion decorated with one of the animals. On the base, a blue mark with the character 天.
