Porcelain plate, “Ducks on the Pond”, Qing Dynasty

A circular plate with low, slightly curved sides. The interior decoration depicts a scene of a pair of mandarin ducks swimming amongst lotus flowers. The outer rim of the plate is decorated with a border that continues the scene of ducks amongst lotuses and water lilies. On the base, it bears a six-character mark (大清雍正年制). Qing Dynasty (1644–1912). or later.
