Description.
A delicate, celadon-greenish-blue glazed porcelain dish, characteristic of Ru kilns, with fine crackle-work running across the entire surface. The piece has a lobed profile in the shape of a six-petal flower, with gentle curves that harmonise the rim. The glaze is densely glazed, with a silky finish that adds depth to the colour and highlights the fine network of intentional cracks, which is highly prized in Song aesthetics. The base shows the slight unglazed elevation that is common in these productions. This work is a refined evocation of the ceramics from the imperial Ru kilns, considered to be among the most prestigious of the Song dynasty.
