Description.
A porcelain teapot with an ovoid body and a slightly truncated cone-shaped base, with a recessed lid, curved spout and scroll handle. The piece is richly decorated in pink enamel with a dense floral motif dominated by multi-coloured chrysanthemums set against a background of green branches and bluish rock formations. The floral composition is accompanied on one side by a poem in Chinese characters and a red seal. On the lid and the lower part of the body is an ornamental register with a yellow background and floral motifs on bluish scrolls. The upper knob, in the shape of a bulb, is gilded. On the base, on an unglazed white background, is the iron-red mark ‘居仁堂製’. Republic of China period (1912-1949) or later.
