Description.
Hand-painted Portuguese ceramic tray. It features a distinctly octagonal shape with rounded corners, a design characteristic of English Staffordshire serving trays or the export tableware of the East India Company. The central field is decorated with an intricate landscape. Architectural elements, birds in flight, deer integrated into the natural setting, and lush vegetation of vines and wildflowers covering the entire white surface can be seen. Signed on the reverse.
