Quadrangular vase ‘Flowers and Birds’, with Qianlong seal

Porcelain vase with a quadrangular body and a short, slightly flaring neck, topped by a gilt rim. Decorated in underglaze blue and iron-red on the cover. Each side of the vase has a rectangular panel in red with fine illustrations in gilt enamel depicting scenes of birds among flowers and branches. The frames of these panels are ornamented with a cobalt-blue vegetal pattern on a white background. On the base is an underglaze blue seal with the inscription “大清乾隆年製”.
