Description.
Watercolor on paper. Rural scene: A young woman wearing a patterned skirt and an apron stands next to a stone fountain. She holds a green jug under the spout while leaning slightly toward the horseman, evoking the “idyll” or courtship that gives the composition its name. In the purest style of the Sorolla tradition and the Valencian school, the true protagonist is the sun. Signed “Sempere” and dated in the lower left corner.
