Description.
A white jade plaque of a uniform white hue with slight translucency; it has a rectangular shape with cut edges and a slightly lobed upper section, including a central perforation. Both sides are decorated in relief with a motif of a fierce dragon, set against a background of swirling clouds. The reverse side repeats the composition with softer, less contrasting lines. The dragons, with their elongated, scaled bodies, are notable for their frontal expression, extended claws and a pearl at the bottom, a symbol of wisdom and vital energy. The work shows great precision in the bas-relief, with polished areas that add visual depth. Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or later.
