Description.
Agate with a deep rust-red hue. It has a curved body, the upper surface of which is decorated with seven raised ‘buttons’. The design features a central rectangular opening at the base, intended for threading onto a leather or silk belt. It displays a natural patina resulting from ageing. Warring States period (475–221 BC) or later.
