Description.
Glazed porcelain in intense cobalt blue. With a globular body, it stands on an elliptical base and has a lid decorated with relief appliqués evoking stylised fins. The ensemble is decorated with geometric fretwork and cloud motifs in relief. The side handles, moulded in the shape of elephant heads, lend it a zoomorphic character characteristic of these ritual reinterpretations. An apocryphal stamp in characters reading ‘大清嘉庆年制’ is preserved on the base.
