Oil on panel. A seascape featuring lateen-sailed boats beneath a dark sky. It stands out for its cool contrasts in impasto blues and whites. The artist applies the oil paint using impasto brushstrokes and touches of a palette knife, creating overlapping planes of color that lend a three-dimensional quality, dynamism, and texture to the waves, the sail, and the sky.
