Description.
Made from glazed ceramic in a pale celadon green or matt ‘lavender blue’ hue, featuring a subtle network of natural craquelure. It has a classic circular shape with a slightly flared rim and a low circular foot. The base is fully glazed and bears three small contact marks, as well as two incised characters ‘奉华’. Song Dynasty (960–1279) or later.
The inscription refers to the Fenghua Pavilion, the residence of Emperor Gaozong’s favourite concubine.
