Sage sculpture in gilded wood, Qing dynasty

Carved, engraved and gilded wood in the form of an old Buddhist man sitting on steep rocks.  He performs a 'mudra' gesture with his left hand and holds a vase or 'hulu' bottle beside him. He is dressed in a carved robe decorated with clouds and borders. The gilding has patina or wear and is carved in detail. There are no inscriptions or markings.
