Description.
Set of four jade ornaments for sword fittings, known as ‘Yuju’ (玉具). Includes: circular pommel, winged guard, rectangular pin for the scabbard, and trapezoidal scabbard finial. The pieces are carved from dark green jade, covered with a deep black patina. The decoration features reliefs of sinuous chilong dragons and mythical beasts on a background of geometric patterns. Han dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) or later.
