Set of eight solid cinnabar inks, with lacquer box, Qing dynasty.

Wooden box lacquered in black and decorated on the lid with gold paint and pigments. It depicts two dragons surrounding a cartouche with three Chinese characters.

The inside is lined with carved silk and contains eight solid cinnabar inks decorated with inscriptions and scenes in relief with traces of gilding. Characters are depicted engaged in various activities surrounded by landscapes and buildings. On each side there is a two-character inscription. 

In very good condition with patina.
