Description.
White-ground glazed porcelain with polychrome decoration and a square body with bevelled corners. The interior of each piece is decorated with a heraldic coat of arms surmounted by a crown and the inscription “AVE MARIA”, flanked by garlands. The design is associated with the Veiga Cabral and Sampaio families. The decoration is completed by a wide horizontal band featuring geometric motifs, and a rim adorned with a border of plant motifs. The base of both pieces bears a four-character stamp (永勝堂製).
