Description.
Celadon-green jade with veining in shades of ochre and brown. It depicts a tortoise shell, a symbol of longevity. Its convex upper shell features fine polygonal incisions delineating the scutes of the shell, whilst the lower plastron is flat. It has a hole for hanging. Hongshan culture (c. 4700–2900 BC) or later.
