Shousang seal, ‘Dragons with a flaming pearl’, Qing Dynasty

A carved Shoushan stone seal, of a deep orange colour. It features a complex relief design of mythical dragons vying for a large, flaming pearl, surrounded by stylised cloud and scroll motifs. The front face bears an incised inscription. The impression surface features characters carved in seal script. It is presented in its box, lined with blue silk. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912).or later.
