Shoushan seal ‘Seated beast’, Qing dynasty

Shoushan stone in a yellow-orange hue. It has a rectangular base topped by the image of a seated mythical beast with an alert expression. The animal has a curly mane, a fierce expression, powerful musculature and incised fur. The base is decorated with a band of engraved fretwork. It comes with a pedestal and original lined box.
