Description.
Shoushan stone seal in a translucent honey colour with reddish and orange veins. The piece has a square base, crowned by a round carving of a mythical celestial beast in a vigilant pose, with its body hunched, one leg forward and its head slightly tilted. The figure is meticulously carved, with detailed musculature, fur and facial features. A seal carved in low relief is placed at the base. Qing dynasty (1644–1911).
