Shoushan stone seal ‘Poem’, 20th century

A seal carved from pale yellow Shoushan stone with natural veins. The piece has a prismatic shape with gently rounded edges and a flat top. One side is finely engraved with an extensive calligraphic inscription in Chinese characters, accompanied by a small seal in red. The base of the seal shows the relief engraving of stylised characters on a background stained red by the traces of sealing wax used.
