Description.
Cast and minted silver with an antique patina. The obverse features a design of an imperial dragon surrounded by the inscription ‘KIANG NAN PROVINCE’ and the face value ‘7 MACE AND 2 CANDAREENS’. The reverse shows four central Chinese characters ‘光緒元寶’, surrounded by a legend identifying the province of Jiangnan and the date in the sexagenary cycle corresponding to 1898.
