Description.
An ornamental centrepiece in polychrome biscuit porcelain, in a distinctive early 20th-century Art Nouveau style. The composition is notable for its asymmetrical and sinuous design. The body of the bowl resembles a large water lily leaf or an open flower with lobed petals, combining a white interior with exterior areas in a deep olive green tone. At the centre stands the stylised figure of a nymph or woman draped in a flowing white tunic that blends into the base; the figure is depicted in a dynamic, theatrical pose, with her hair gathered back and her arms outstretched, following the curved lines of the piece. It bears the inscription ‘13 / 9048 / S / DEP / 1’ on its base.
Size: 16 x 11 x 19 cm
