Description.
Small jade plaque, carved in the shape of a ritual dagger, amber ochre in colour with reddish areas. The blade is decorated with fine incisions depicting a zoomorphic mask, with concentric circular eyes and bands of fine striations. The handle has two conical holes for suspension and schematic incised characters. The piece shows patina due to age. Liangzhu culture (c. 3300-2300 BC) or later.
