Small Junyao censer, Song dynasty (960 - 1279)

Blue glazed ceramic with purple-splashed decoration. The globular-shaped body of the censer is supported on three feet. The neck is rounded towards the interior and holds a mouth that protrudes outwards with a circular rim. The glaze occupies the entire piece except for the end of the feet. It is in perfect condition, being a type of piece very sought after by collectors.
