Description.
Carved Shoushan stone with a reddish hue. The piece is rectangular and topped by an alert beast with a long mane, curled tail and large antlers. It is adorned with incised and embossed details. The base contains a calligraphic inscription engraved for stamping. It shows patina due to age. Qing dynasty (1644–1912).
