Spinach green jade figure, ‘Board game,’ Qing dynasty

Sculpture carved from spinach green jade. It depicts a scene with scholars seated around a table under a tree with leafy branches. Two of the figures are playing a traditional board game, while their companions stand and watch the game. The carving features incised, openwork and relief details, executed with great skill. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912).
