Description.
Calligraphy brush composed of a cylindrical handle of carved spinach-green jade, characterized by its intense color with natural dark flecks and a glossy polish. The end features a slight double-ring molding, evoking ritual jade rings, which adds an ornate touch. The top is topped with a carefully assembled tuft of natural hair. This type of brush, beyond its practical use, was also a symbol of Confucian scholarship and virtue, and was a regular part of the literary studies of the Qing elite. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) or later.
