Description.
Carved jade of an intense spinach-green colour, with a lobed body resembling a gourd, featuring thick walls. The piece is notable for its spout, carved in the shape of a ram’s head, with great detail in the horns and the animal’s expression. The teapot is crowned by a lobed lid with a stepped rim and rests on a luxurious overgilded metal stand, which features a rigid handle decorated with cloisonné enamels in shades of turquoise blue and green, depicting fish figures in relief. The base of the jade piece bears, within a lobed medallion, an incised four-character mark: ‘乾隆年制’. or later.
