A large devotional tabletop altar in the Levantine Rococo style. It features a square central frame housing an oil painting depicting the Virgin of Sorrows, identified by the inscription ‘MARE DE DEU’. The frame is lavishly decorated with rocaille motifs, foliage and an openwork finial. It rests on a stylised shaft with volute corbels, on which stand two freestanding figures in the round representing child angels. The whole structure rests on a wide, moulded plinth.
