Two carved wooden African ceremonial masks, 20th century

Carved wood. The first of these is a Punu or ceremonial Okuyi mask, with feminine features, characteristic of Gabon.  The second, crowned with large, elongated beaks and two long ears, is modelled on the ritual dance masks known as Bamanas, from Mali.
