Description.
Natural agate bead of tubular type. The piece exhibits an intense dark base colour, interrupted by parallel bands of white and ochre, which join in the centre to form a triangle. These lines are not applied decorations, but natural strata of the agate. It shows patina due to ageing. Liao Dynasty (907-1125 AD).
