Two-piece writing desk, Asian style, 20th century

Carved and lacquered wood with gold pigment painted details of Asian elements such as birds, lotuses and calm landscapes. It has a folding desk in the central area followed by a three-tier bookcase. In the lower area there is a drawer unit with four compartments.
