Description.
A fan panel signed and dated ‘V. Billou/1881’ in the lower left-hand corner. It features a detailed 19th-century academic-style painting, which reinterprets Peter Paul Rubens’ oil painting ‘The Garden of Love’. The scene features courtly figures and a small winged cupid. Mounted and protected within a rectangular picture frame featuring an elegant fabric mat and a gilded frame. It shows signs of wear and imperfections typical of its age.
