Description.
Made of translucent white agate with subtle natural veins. The piece is a stylised representation of a ram's head with large curved horns. It is notable for its profuse ornamentation carved in bas-relief with a pattern of spiral volutes and clouds, retaining traces of cinnabar. Eastern Zhou Dynasty (770–256 BC) or later.
