Description.
Hetian jade of extraordinary whiteness, with areas of naturally oxidised red-orange patina. It depicts the Bodhisattva Guanyin seated in a serene posture atop an imposing, long-bodied, scaly dragon, holding a lotus flower and framed by a dorsal halo. It rests on a wooden base with a lotus-shaped pedestal. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) or later.
