Description.
Natural Hetian nephrite jade, of an exceptional white hue. It depicts a reclining horse, with a powerful build, turning its neck towards its back to hold, with its muzzle, a fruit-laden branch resting on its back. The attention to detail is evident in the mane and tail, executed with fine incisions, as well as in the animal’s serene expression. The piece sits on a carved wooden base. Qing Dynasty (1644–1912).
