Description.
White Hetian jade. The set comprises eight horse figures, each individually carved in the round, in a different pose, capturing the animals’ dynamism and strength with great naturalism. The figures are presented on their respective bases lined with embroidered silk. This set alludes to the legendary horses of King Mu of the Zhou dynasty. Qing dynasty (1644–1912).
